Movie in the Cemetery 2019

We’re so excited for this year’s Movie in the Cemetery! The historic Redford Cemetery is near and dear to our hearts and we are lucky to have such an awesome place for this event. Check out the photos from last year’s event HERE.

If you’re a first-timer, here’s what you need to know:

Don’t let all those beautiful orange barrels on Telegraph get in your way. The cemetery is located directly across from Little Caesars (15839 Telegraph, Redford). We have permission from several area businesses to use their lots for this event, but please try to carpool since space is limited, and understand that parking is at your own risk. Look for the parking attendants to direct you where to go. Keep in mind that only volunteers and vehicles with handicapped placards will be allowed to park in the cemetery. Expect to walk at least 1 block.

Once you park, make your way to the front gate. Our resident grave digger will check you in – please have your mobile tickets or printed tickets ready. You’ll receive a wristband, tickets for your free pop and popcorn, and a door prize entry ticket. Follow the candlelit path to the paved road where you’ll stop at the Information Tent to fill out & drop off your door prize entry. This tent will be manned by a volunteer at all times and will be where you can find first aid if the need arises. If you have any questions or problems do not hesitate to let us know. Use caution when walking through the cemetery as it is home to many gophers and groundhogs who love the cemetery just as much as we do.

You’ll now continue walking the paved road to the main area where you can check out the hearses from Just Hearse’N Around, shop the vendors, grab concessions, and set up your blankets/chairs in the viewing area. Not to worry, we won’t be hanging out on Grandma Dorothy’s grave or anything. There are no burials in this area.

Early Showing

Gates will open at 6:30pm. Door prizes and 50/50 will be drawn at 7:15pm, followed by the movie from 7:30-9:20pm. Please keep in mind that we have a 2nd showing starting at 10:30pm. As the saying goes: “You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.” All guests must exit the cemetery when the movie concludes. The 2nd showing crew will need your parking spot, so please try to exit quickly.

Late Showing

This is our first time having a 2nd showing, so we ask for everyone’s patience in advance. Keep in mind that the first showing does not end until 9:20pm. To give the first crowd enough time to leave, do not plan on arriving until 9:45pm, as there will be no parking available until then. Gates will open around 9:50pm (or as soon as the 1st crowd has left). Door prizes and 50/50 will be drawn at approximately 10:15pm, followed by the movie from 10:30-12:20pm.
