The current homeowner purchased this beautiful house in 2012. Judging from the real estate listing photos there are lots of original features inside! I’ve spotted original doors, baseboard molding, window and door trim, steam radiators, a cove ceiling, built-ins, hardwood floors, and glass french doors. Vinyl siding has been installed over the original clapboard siding.

Not only is this home on a huge lot, it definitely has the original garage. It’s a thing of beauty!

  1. I live across the street from this home. I will talk to the owner who sold the house in 2012. I think she bought it from the original owners and she got a good narrative of the property history. Ms Williams once showed me an advertisement for the sale of our lots in the Volney Smith subdivision. I’m not sure if she left it with the new owner. I will ask them. My favorite features of the home are the Michigan basement and the bump-out built onto the garage to accomodate the size cars newer than Model-Ts. I would love to talk to you about your centennial project and help you with research.

    1. That would be awesome! We are running into a lot of homeowners who have detailed information about the history of their home – it’s like hitting the jackpot! Call anytime – 734-812-2687, Mac
